Want SocialMedia to Work? That is the topic of a session I will be delivering at ASAE’s Technology Conference next week. Then I’ll talk about the framework we came up with for changing your organization from the inside out so that it can be more compatible with the true power of socialmedia.
Remember how, around 2005 or so, it seemed like PCs (at least on the Windows side) were starting to stagnate, leading to longer upgrade cycles in offices, as much of the existing tech “just worked”? It’s like 2005 all over again. It’s like 2005 all over again. The latest and greatest is becoming a commodity again.
On one hand, you have the juggernaut that is socialmedia. Also look at learning preferences, technology adoption and topic interests. Technology is not synonymous for innovation; some associations are having breakthroughs by going back to old tech. I can understand this--theres a LOT more money being earmarked for social tech in the corporate sector than there is in the association sector. I guess I mean association tech vendors.
My job at the time had nothing to do with blogging or socialmedia, and after recently "on-ramping" back to the work world after an eight year hiatus, I was basically in an entry-level position and had plenty of time to blog.
