'We’ve all seen them. Some of us have written them. I’m talking about lists…not grocery lists or to-do lists. I’m talking about the tenets of leadership lists. I love reading other people’s tenets of leadership lists. I like what those lists allow me to learn about the people who wrote them. 'A few months ago, I was looking for a kid-friendly, clean, affordable place at which my family and I could eat during a weekend getaway. So the first thing I did? Turned to Yelp for customer reviews. I didn’t want marketing speak, but instead the pros and cons of dining experiences. I did the same thing a few weeks later while looking for a hotel. '(I published this post originally on LinkedIn ). I came across the first account (that I have found, anyway) of Zappos'' emerging experiment with the internal management system of Holacracy. Journalist Aimee Groth wrote a long and detailed account of how the rollout is progressing. Despite working on it for over a year, it is by no means fully rolled out--Zappos is the largest organization (1500 employees) to use the Holacracy system so far.

Traditional budgeting and forecasting methods can no longer keep pace with today’s rapidly evolving business environment. Static budgets, rigid annual forecasts, and outdated financial models limit an organization’s ability to adapt to market shifts and economic uncertainty. To stay ahead, finance leaders must leverage a future-forward approach—one that leverages real-time data, predictive analytics, and continuous planning to drive smarter financial decisions.

What does your association’s brand say about the organization? Ideally, it should represent the leader for your industry or profession, locally, regionally, or nationally. For years associations have relied on word of mouth (WOM) to play a role in creating that awareness. WOM is a very powerful tool. There is no question that social networking has taken WOM to a whole new level.
