Ascend Learning’s intranet has been so successful that, just a year after launch, basecamp was awarded the Gold PRISM award for Internal Communication by the Greater Kansas City Public Relations Society of America (PRSA). Because of that we’ve seen groups sharing resources, from content for marketing to ideas on vendor selection.

In fact, the 2023 Membership Marketing Benchmarking Report states that 64% of associations believe members join to network with others in the field. According to the 2023 Membership Marketing Benchmarking Report , 50% of associations reported an increase in new member acquisitions, up from 44% in the 2022 report!

According to Marketing General Inc.’s s 2016 Membership Marketing Benchmarking Repor t [PDF], a majority of associations surveyed are sending new member communications in the form of email welcomes or welcome kits. The pairings are marketed as a career mentorship, and it’s helped to incentivize meeting attendance for younger members.
