This year I facilitated several labs, including several for the Knight Foundation Arts Program to learn about the local arts ecosystem in four cities, including Philadelphia, SanJose, Charlotte, and Macon. When I look back on 2016, it was a very rich and productive year. And, I expect no less in 2017.
Giving Circle : I helped co-found and am co-leading the SanJose Business Women for Good Giving Circle. I have continued my work as senior advisor to Lightful , a socialmedia management tool for charities based in London. . I continue to serve on the advisory board of Leadership Learning Community and Wake.
“Most people don’t know their neighbors,” Nextdoor cofounder Sarah Leary noted in an interview with the SanJose Mercury News. “For us, it’s really about using technology from socialmedia, but applying it to the concept of really bringing back that sense of community to the neighborhood.”
Giving Circle : I helped co-found and am co-leading the SanJose Business Women for Good Giving Circle. I hope to share some of these experiments in future blog posts – much in the same spirit as when I started my blog to share socialmedia practices in the early days.
Overall, socialmedia posts reflect that members were happy to have a chance to check in with peers and appreciated the work ASAE put into the conference. As meetings continue to happen and the virus keeps us in the habit of social distancing, improvements in virtual meeting offerings will continue to evolve. Visit SanJose.
